An important part of Quality Place is making sure our community is well cared for and has access to plenty of green spaces. That’s where Beautiful RVA comes in! Beautiful RVA, incubated at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, is a coalition dedicated to improving our region through public horticulture, urban greening, and community-based beautification. This social movement has inspired more than 25 on-going or completed projects around the Richmond area, and has a grassroots volunteer base of over 300!
Projects vary in range and scope, and include everything from public art installations to alley beautification to rain gardens. Earlier this month, Beautiful RVA unveiled a new brand and collective impact strategy. With the support of The Community Foundation, Beautiful RVA also offers a “Community Greening Tool Kit,” which provides templates and guides to help residents spearhead a community beautification project in their own neighborhoods.
If urban gardening and community greening inspire you, we encourage you to visit the Beautiful RVA website to learn more about ways you can get involved.
