Why It's Important

STEM-H are jobs which emphasize science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and healthcare.  As innovation and technological advances are exponentially increasing in the market place, many employers are seeking very technically skilled workers to fill positions. These jobs are growing at a faster rate than other jobs and STEM-H degree holders often have a higher income than non-STEM-H careers.

In the Richmond Region, percent employment in STEM-H fields has increased from 13.8% to 14.8% since 1st quarter 2015.
