Why It's Important

According to the 2014 federal poverty guidelines, the poverty level for a family of four is $23,850. Those children living in poverty often lack access to basic life skills, social networks, safe neighborhoods as well as basic food, shelter, and clothes. Additionally, tracking children in poverty can help us look at potential opportunities or challenges for our community in the future.
